About
A confident, prideful, benevolent treasure hunter who enjoys a good challenge, as well as both the simple and finer things in life. She is more caring than she would have most believe. As a gifted Templar and fighter, her ability to sneak is often overshadowed by her enjoyment of improvising a dramatic entrance.
Background
The bastard child of a Redoran noble, Risala was born in a Suran brothel to the Velothi, Salari. At the age of five her mother married a Dunmer fisherman native to Cyrodiil. Her childhood was a happy one, raised on the shores of Vvardenfell. Her mother held onto her Ashlander beliefs, and her father saw that Risala had proper Templar training in a temple of the Divines, thus causing the young mer to grow up with a respect without reverence for the Tribunal. At the age of nineteen, the young mer left Vvardenfell with her friends to become marines. The ship made it as far as the southern Padomaic Ocean before a storm claimed the vessel. The lone survivor, Risala was fished out by privateers and spent most of the proceeding decade sailing. For years she would travel, working with the Undaunted, then independently as a treasure hunter and delver to both acquire and preserve relics of the past. But always she would wander back to Vvardenfell and home time and again.Well over a decade ago she met an Altmer and their relationship quickly blossomed, even after discovering that he was a vampire. Their romance ended in tragedy, with him kidnapping her so as to avoid being parted by turn her, and Risala killing him. Hunted down by his vengeful brothers, Risala was sacrificed, her soul torn from her body. It was only when an escape was sprung with the help of an old sorcerer that Risala's body and soul were reunited. Her violet eyes now strikingly blue, she recovered and spent the next decade with her soul sealed in a jam jar carried carefully at her hip.Not long after her escape the flu struck. One of those infected was none other than her mother. Using every connection she could, and spending almost all of her small fortune, Risala found mages who were able to save Salari, though her body was left frail. For years a great portion of any fortune she amassed was sent home to pay for her mothers care. After the help of friends in recovering her soul, Risala had taken up traveling with the sorcerer (Daedra), Vayasan, and served as Captain of the ship, The Shalmaneser, and then a smaller Colovian privateer ship, The Delari.Over the past several years Risala has lost both her parents, The Delari which was burned by an old enemy, but also gained a friendship with a half-sister. The mage Yaria and Risala have founded House Mesandil for themselves and Velothi who need a family. The titular heroine has begun exploring again, so who knows what mischief and mayhem may follow.
